Volunteers are essential to the success of Greyhound Friends.  

Kennel Volunteers work closely with our staff members to provide a clean, safe environment for our dogs.  Below describes some of the tasks that the kennel volunteers help with:
- Cleaning out dog kennels
- Cleaning out turn out pens
- Washing kennel floors
- Sweeping floors
- Washing food & water bowls
- Helping with laundry
- Walking dogs


We do require our volunteers to be 16 years or older to help volunteer in the kennel.

KENNEL WISH LIST

  We are always in need of gently used  blankets/comforters/sheets/towels & carpets

Needed Cleaning Products:
paper towels
Lysol
bleach
liquid dish soap
laundry detergent

Dog food/dog supplies
Dog and/or canned food –     Iams, Eukanauba, and         Pro Plan
Bandages
Vet supplies
Flea and tick shampoo
Olive oil – we put some in the     dogs’ food; it helps their skin
Rice


Misc:
Carpet cutters

Office supplies – copy paper,     envelopes, paper,     pens, scotch tape, etc.

Mailing envelopes – especially     large ones

Bird seed for our large flock of     various hungry birds




For those under the age of 16 and still interested in helping out the dogs:

  • You could have a blanket drive at your school, community group, church or local library.
  • Make a no-sew fleece blanket

  • Have a collection drive to purchase items on our wish list
  • Host a fundraising event with all proceeds being donated to the shelter.
  • Stop in for posters and ask different businesses if you can hang them up.
